APC Comment:
A hybrid taxon involving Salix alba var. alba and Salix babylonica. Treated by some authors (e.g. G.W.Carr in N.G.Walsh & T.J.Entwisle (eds), Fl. Victoria 2: 394 (1996) and S.W.L.Jacobs & L.Murray in G.J.Harden (ed.), Fl. New S. Wales 1: 614 (2000) as naturalised in Tasmania, but M.L.Baker, Muelleria 27: 138 (2009) considers Tasmanian plants to be cultivated only, and represent only nothovar. ×chrysocoma.
