Etymology:
The specific epithet honours Jean Galbraith who was one of the first people to discover this species and to recognise its vulnerability from inappropriate management procedures. Jean has made a significant contribution to our understanding of the flora of Victoria, particularly in association with the Latrobe Valley Naturalists Inc. Her efforts have directly resulted in the protection of the "Wildflower Track' population of this species by the then Forestry Commission.
