  • Type: Western Australia: Carnarvon: Between Coolcalalaya Stn. and Glasse's Bore, J.S. Beard 7142, 22 Oct 1974 (PERTH).
  • Etymology: "In reference to 'bowgada scrub', a plant community dominated by Acacia linophylla or 'bowgada', in which this species frequently occurs. This species also superficially resembles Acacia linophylla in habit and leaf morphology."
