Hasskarl cites this name as "Cathormion moniliferum" and gives the basionym as "Inga monilifera Decaisn. Flor. Timor. 131". The latter is an orthographic variant of Inga moniliformis DC. that was first used by Decaisne. Hasskarl's spelling of the epithet in the new combination is likewise here considered to be a correctable error.
