  • Etymology: "The species is named for the collector of the only known material, William Vincent Fitzgerald, to perpetuate the memory of a keen field observer and one of Western Australia's most respected early taxonomists."

  • APC Comment: Pedley in Austrobaileya 2 (1987) had noted the specimen which subsequently became the type of this species as an aberrant form of Acacia deltoideum, and later (Pedley in Austrobaileya 6, 2003) reduced A. vincentii to a synonym of Racosperma deltoideum (=A. deltoidea).
