Etymology:
"Named for Stanley Thatcher Blake (1911-1973), a former member of staff at the Queensland Herbarium (BRI) who provided the first revision of the genus Plectranthus in Australia and made a tremendous contribution both to the herbarium collections of Australaian plants at the institution (over 23 000 numbers) and to Australian taxonomic botanical literature (Everist 1976)."
