Elaeocarpaceae Juss.
Elaeocarpus johnsonii F.Muell. , legitimate, scientific
Mueller, F.J.H. von (1893), Notes on Papuan plants. Journal of Botany, British and Foreign 31: 322 BHL [tax. nov.]
  • Type: "...discovered recently in Northern Queensland."
White, C.T. (1 April 1933), Ligneous plants collected for the Arnold Arboretum in north Queensland by S.F. Kajewski in 1929. Contributions from the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University 4: 67-68 [secondary reference]
  • Type: "North Queensland (without precise locality), Johnson (Nat. Herb. Melbourne, type)."
  • Text: "There are several sheets of Johnson's specimens at the National Herbarium, Melbourne. In the herbarium catalogue the species is entered as 'Elaeocarpus Johnsonii F. v. Muell. Pap Pl. II (1891)' but I cannot find that the name was ever published."
  • Comment: Authorship of this name is sometimes attributed to F.Muell. ex C.T.White in this work. However, while White states that he had been unable to find the place of publication the name is attributed to "F. v. Mueller in herb." and there is no "sp. nov." notation. This is here treated as a secondary reference to Mueller's name.
