Combination is validly made by indirect reference to the basionym. Gardner states in the preface, p. ii, that synonyms refer to the names as used by Bentham in the Flora Australiensis. Gardner included Mirbelia oxyclada F.Muell. as a synonym, and Bentham, Fl. Austral. 2 (1864) 38 includes Jacksonia viminalis Benth. as a synonym of Mirbelia oxyclada F.Muell.
