  • APC Comment: Hybrids are recorded for Qld between E. cullenii and E. melanophloia (Henderson, 2002). Blakely (1934) published the name Eucalyptus cullenii var. trivalva. This orthography is correct if the varietal epithet is taken as a noun in apposition. Chippendale (1988) changed this to the adjectival form 'E. cullenii var. trivalvis' but the change was unnecesary and the original spelling is retained here.
