Scrophulariaceae Juss.
Eremophila longifolia (R.Br.) F.Muell. , legitimate, scientific
Mueller, F.J.H. von (October 1859), Report on the Plants Collected During Mr. Babbage's Expedition into the North West Interior of South Australia in 1858. Victoria - Parliamentary Papers- Votes and Proceedings of the Legislative Assembly 3(1): 17 [comb. nov.]
basionym: Stenochilus longifolius R.Br. legitimate
  • Comment: Mueller does not cite a basionym but refers to "Ferd. Mueller in papers of the Roy. Soc. of Tasm. 1858" and also fulfills the conditions for publication of the name Eremophila longifolia as that of a new taxon. His subsequently published treatment of the species in Pap. & Proc. Roy. Soc. Tasmania 3(2): 295 (1860) includes Stenochilus longifolius R.Br. in synonymy. Given the existence of a potential basionym and Mueller's presumed intent, this is here treated as a new combination by Mueller under ICN Art. 41.4 (Shenzhen Code, 2018).
