Geraniaceae Juss.
Pelargonium L'Hér. , legitimate, scientific
Aiton, W. (1789), Hortus Kewensis 2: 417 BHL [tax. nov.]
  • Type: (not designated).
  • Comment: In the preface to volume 1 of Hortus Kewensis (1789), Aiton acknowledges "communications" of unpublished work sent to him by L'Héritier (p. vi) and cites several of these (p. xxi) in a list of "Books Quoted". This, combined with Aiton's citation of "PELARGONIUM. L'Herit. Geran.", is here considered to constitute ascription of the new taxon name to L'Héritier by Aiton under ICN Art. 46.2 (Shenzhen Code, 2018).
