Polyosma cunninghamii R.Br. ex Benn. , legitimate, scientific
Bennett, J.J., Brown, R. & Horsfield, T. (1840), Plantae Javanicae Rariores 2: 196 [tax. nov.]
  • Type: "Habitat in Novâ Cambriâ Australi prope Five Islands, in sylvis umbrosis submontosis: arbor 12–25-pedalis, A. Cunningham (1818). (exam. s. in Herb. Banks.)"
  • Comment: The treatment of Polyosma in which this taxon name is validly published is signed "I.J.B." [i.e. J.J.Bennett], whereas the name is ascribed to R.Brown via the notation "R. Br. ! MSS.". Since the validating description is not ascribed to Brown, Bennett is here treated as the author of the name following ICN Art. 46.6 (Shenzhen Code, 2018), regardless of Brown's co-authorship of the publication as a whole.
