APC Comment:
P.M.Kloot, Austral. J. Bot. 31(4): 434 (1983), refers to "... some specimens collected near Adelaide by Mueller ...", but Lolium persicum is not known to be naturalised in Australia.

Text:
"There is a single old collection (St Vincents Gulf, s.d., Blandowski) at MEL which has been identified as this species, P.M.Kloot (The Genus Lolium in Australia, Austral. J. Bot. 31: 434 (1983)) thought that Australian material was probably referable to L. temulentum var. temulentum, but N.G.Walsh (pers. comm.) says that most features of the specimen match descriptions of L. persicum. However there are no more recent collections, so the species, if correctly identified, does not appear to have persisted."
