Eucalyptus eremaea D.J.Carr & S.G.M.Carr , legitimate, scientific
Carr, D.J. & Carr, S.G.M. (1985), Eucalyptus 1 - New or little-known species of the Corymbosae: 38-39 [tax. nov.]
  • Type: "J.R.Maconochie 658, 18 Jan. 1969 Chermside area, W. of Ayer's Rock, Northern Territory. Holo. (NT 15587), iso. (AD, FRI)." [Locality given on label of CANB 412313 isotype as 'Churmside area, 107 m. W. of Ayers Rock'. This may refer to Chirnside Creek, NT, which is in the right vicinity (A.V.Slee, pers. comm. May 2013).]
taxonomic synonym: Eucalyptus polycarpa var. oligocarpa Blakely & Jacobs legitimate
  • Comment: "Eucalyptus eremaea D.J.Carr & S.G.M.Carr subsp. eremaea" is listed in synonymy under Corymbia eremaea (D.J.Carr & S.G.M.Carr) K.D.Hill & L.A.S.Johnson in EUCLID 3rd edn (2006) and EUCLID 4th edn (2020). It is attributed in both cases to D.J.M.Carr & S.G.Carr, Eucalyptus 1: 38 (1985). This appears to be in error, as no names at subspecific rank had been validly published in Eucalyptus eremaea by Carr & Carr (1985), so this autonym was not established.
