  • Etymology: "The varietal epithet is derived from the Greek verb mello (to intend to do, only think of doing), in reference to the long period of deliberation over the status of the taxon."
  • Comment: Typographic error – given as `mellitica' in heading but as `melletica' elsewhere in the paper. Corrected by author in Nuytsia 7 (1990) 229.
