Combination is validly made by indirect reference to the basionym. Gardner states in the preface, p. ii, that synonyms refer to the names as used by Bentham in the Flora Australiensis. Gardner included Jansonia formosa Kippist as a synonym, and Bentham, Fl. Austral. 2 (1867) 8 includes Cryptosema pimeleoides Meissner as a synonym of Jansonia formosa Kippist.
