Comment:Chapman attributes this name to R.Brown, Prodr. 150 (1810). Brown lists the following under Asplenium obtusatum: "Labill. nov. holl. 2. p. 93. t. 242. f. 2 var. minor". This is here interpreted as a comment by Brown on the small plant depicted in Labillardiere's illustration rather than an attempt to publish a new name. New varieties published by Brown in this work are denoted with Greek letters rather than "var.".
