  • Although both G.Bentham (Fl. Austral. 7: 603, 1878) and K.Domin (Biblioth. Bot. 20(85): 372. 1915) based their new combinations on J.Lindley's Danthonia lappacea, their material was of a taxon now known as Astrebla squarrosa C.E.Hubb. Thus their descriptions, cited specimens and images all refer to A. squarrosa (fide M.E.Nightingale & C.M.Weiller in K.Mallett (ed), Fl. Australia 44B: 457, 2005). Hybrids between Astrebla lappacea and A. elymoides are known from Qld.
