  • Type: "It was originally collected by M. Bauerlen [sic; Baeuerlen], in February, 1892, at Tintenbar... In January, 1904, Mr. R. A. Campbell forwarded specimens from the Tweed River... In February, 1918, and again in March of the same year, some leaves and ripe fruits, forwarded by Mr. Campbell..."
  • Etymology: "The specific name Campbelli [sic] is proposed in honour of Mr. R . A . Campbell who has interested himself in this and many other plants of the Tweed River District."
