Crowea saligna Andrews, legitimate, scientific tax. nov. apni
Andrews, H.C. (1800), The Botanist's Repository for New, and Rare Plants 2: t. 79 [tax. nov.]
  • Type: "Our drawing was made from the nursery at Hammersmith, where it was raised from seeds, in the year 1790".
common name: Willow-leaved Crowea [n/a]
  • Comment: A.D.Chapman, Austral. Pl. Name Index 829 (1991), lists "Crowea saligna Graham ... pro syn. ... nom. inval.". R.Graham, Edinburgh New Philos. J. 5: 173 (1828), indicates that the name Crowea saligna had been misapplied to Eriostemon salicifolius by Sieber [in exsiccatae], but this is a secondary reference to a previously published name.
  • Comment: Stafleu & Cowan, Tax. Lit. ed. 2, 1 (1976) 51 give the author as "probably ... John Kennedy", but as there is no such indication in the work itself, Andrews has been accepted here as the author.
