Species Temnohaswellia simulator (Haswell, 1924)

 

Introduction

The name, Temnocephala simulator, was proposed by Haswell (1924) for a previously undescribed brown, six-tentacled temnocephalan, similar in anatomy to T. comes and in the development of spermatophores. The species was subsequently reassigned to Temnohaswellia.

Adult: parasitic (host(s): Euastacus armatus von Martens, 1866 [PARASTACIDAE] (Identity of host is uncertain as the individual was a juvenile); Euastacus dangadi Morgan, 1997 [PARASTACIDAE]; Euastacus gumar Morgan, 1997 [PARASTACIDAE]; Euastacus spinichelatus Morgan, 1997 [PARASTACIDAE]; Euastacus neohirsutus Riek, 1956 [PARASTACIDAE]; Euastacus sulcatus Riek, 1951 [PARASTACIDAE]; Euastacus suttoni Clark, 1941 [PARASTACIDAE]; Euastacus valentulus Riek, 1951 [PARASTACIDAE]).
