Genus Tubipora Linnaeus, 1758
Type species:
Tubipora musica by subsequent monotypy.
Introduction
Unidentifed species of Tubipora occur in many tropical and subtropical regions of Australia; the genus is also reported from Lord Howe Island. The origin and characteristics of the often-cited Linnaean species Tubipora musica are unknown. The names of species said to occur in Australian waters should be used with great caution.

Status unknown, ZMB 1062 & 1063 two colonies in alcohol; ZMB 230 one colony dry (a note in the ZMB database states, "nach Martens Katalog: vielleicht vom rothem Meer, Ehrenberg". Translated as "Marten's catalogue: perhaps the Red Sea, Ehrenberg").
