Genus Eucoleus Dujardin, 1845
Type species:
Eucolius aerophilus (Creplin, 1839) Dujardin, 1845 by original designation.
Introduction
Spratt (2006) identified an additional three species of Eucoleus, one from each of Perameles gunnii (Eastern Barred Bandicoot), Antechinus minimus (Swamp Antechinus) and Isoodon macrourus (Northern Brown Bandicoot), however insufficient material prevented a full description of these species. Oakwood & Spratt (2000) recorded an unidentified species from the small intestine of Dasyurus hallucatus (Northern Quoll).
