Off Port Macquarie, NSW to off Portland VIC; temperate and near Perth, WA, south Pacific (New Zealand, Norfolk Ridge, south-west Indian Ocean); most Australian records are misidentifications of other species (Zambeus squamosus and Centroscymnus owstonii).
