Genus Oliva Bruguière, 1789

Introduction

The use of subgenera in the genus Oliva has varied from author to author over time. They were used, with many defined by, Petuch & Sarget (1986) but rejected by Tursch & Greifeneder (2001). They were used again by Hunonet al. (2009). In this work we follow Tursch & Greifeneder in regarding the subgenera as not useful, being based mainly on shell characters.
