Turbo chrysostomus Linnaeus by original designation. - Senectus Swainson, W. 1840. A treatise on malacology or the natural classification of shells and shell-fish. London : Longman, Brown, Green & Longmans 419 pp. [May 1840] [206, 213, 348] [Swainson attributed the name to Humphrey, 1797, but this was published in a work placed on the Official Index by Opinion 51 and Direction 32].
Type species:
Turbo chrysostomus Linnaeus, 1758 by subsequent designation (Herrmannsen, 1848, Indicis generum malacozoorum primordia, 2: 438).
