Extra Distribution Information

Coastal pockets around Cape York Peninsula and adjacent ranges, between the lower Wenlock River on the west coast and the Stewart River in the east. Possibly intergrades with M. a. robinsoni Mathews, 1912 in pockets around Princess Charlotte Bay.

Ecological Descriptors

Arboreal, closed forest, diurnal, frugivorous, granivore, gregarious, nomadic, open forest, tall forest, volant.

Extra Ecological Information

Randomly dispersed, seasonal breeder/opportunistic breeder, sexually dimorphic, feeds arboreally on fruit and seeds in and on edges of rainforest and vine scrub and in mesophyll forest galleries in eucalypt forest, nests in trees and tall bushes, wanders locally to seasonal flushes of food.
