Diagnosis

Amoebozoans with locomotive forms usually monopodial and rather cylindrical, or polypodial with separate cylindrical pseudopodia. Very diverse size, from small amoebae to some of the largest eukaryotic cells known. Monophyletic by ribosomal gene sequences.
