Family CAVOLINIIDAE Gray, 1850

Introduction

Cavolinids are the most diverse and abundant holoplanktonc molluscs in tropical waters. These thecosomes are bilaterally symmetrical with extensive wings and mantle appendages. Compiled from Beesley et. al. (1998).

Family LIMACINIDAE Gray, 1840

Introduction

This family comprises only the family Limacina and is found commonly in offshore plankton. Limacinids have only a thin, transparent shell which is usually less than 2.5 mm long. Compiled from Beesley et. al. (1998).
