Species Aforia lepta (Watson, 1881)
- Pleurotoma (Surcula) lepta Watson, R.B. 1881. Mollusca of "H.M.S. Challenger" expedition. Parts VIII-X. Pleurotomidae. Journal of the Linnean Society of London, Zoology 15: 388-475 [391] [junior homonym; of Pleurotoma lepta Edwards, 1861].
Type data:
Status unknown, BMNH (The original description gives the collection locality as "Challanger Station 157. "Southern Ocean. SE of Australia. 1950 fathoms 55°55'S 108°35'E". However, that lat. and long. is not SE of Australia. Hedley (1922) amended that latitude to 53.55 S, and gave the locality (with a lack of accuracy not typical of Hedley) as "south-west Australia", when he meant "south-west of Australia").
