Introduction
Family Chyromyidae are small flies that generally have a pale yellow cuticle and bright iridescent green, red or purple eyes. The family is cosmopolitan with about 150 described species. The biology of Chyromyidae is poorly known but some species have been reared from guano and dung, and the larvae of others occurs in bird and mammal nests.
