Introduction

Previously thought to be restricted to Indo-Pacific Ocean, however photos and molecular samples suggest a distribution including the Caribbean region of the Atlantic (Knudsen & Clements 2013).

North of Coral Bay (23°02'S) to Kendrew Island (20°29'S), WA, Rowley Shoals (17°29'S) and Scott Reef (14°04'S), WA, Ashmore and Cartier Islands, Timor Sea (12°15'S), Christmas Island, Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Ashmore Reef, Coral Sea (10°24'S), and Murray Island, QLD (9°56'S) to Sandy Beach (30°09'S) NSW, also Herald Cay and Coringa Islets, Coral Sea, Lord Howe Island and Norfolk Island; tropical, Indo-west-central Pacific and Mid Atlantic (Caribbean).
